Licensing & Qualifications

Regent Early Learning Centre is a licensed child care program under British Columbia provincial law.

Being licensed means that we meet mandatory provincial standards for health & safety, staff qualifications, space and equipment, staff-to-child ratios, recordkeeping and ongoing inspections. Licenses are issued under the Child Care / Community Care licensing framework and are monitored by regional Community Care Facility Licensing officers.

All staff who work in licensed child care settings must meet qualification requirements under provincial regulation. In B.C., Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and ECE Assistants working in licensed care are expected to be certified and recorded with the ECE Registry. Our staff hold appropriate certificates and participate in ongoing professional development.
